In the early days of trolling, anglers relied on traditional sinker weights that were cumbersome and often got stuck in the water on various obsticles. But one man’s innovative solution would change the game forever. Boris PEETZ, the founder of PEETZ Fishing Tackle, had a vision for a more efficient and effective way to present lures and dodgers, and flashers. Since starting the company in 1925, he experimented with numerous styles of trolling weights, but it wasn’t until the 1940s that he finally settled on a design that would revolutionize the BC sportfishing industry.

In 1947, PEETZ patented his new design, which allowed anglers to easily clip onto their fishing line at any position and remove it at any moment without having to retie their line. This innovative design was the precursor to the modern-day PEETZ slip sinker, available in numerous weight sizes. In the 1950s, PEETZ refined the shape and wire placement, making it the perfect solution for trolling enthusiasts.
