About the Pacific Salmon Foundation

The Pacific Salmon Foundation (“PSF”) was established in 1987 as an independent, non-governmental, charitable organization to protect, conserve and restore wild Pacific salmon populations in British Columbia and the Yukon. Today, the Foundation galvanizes the breadth of vested stakeholders to support Pacific salmon from stream to estuary to ocean.

PSF is a partner in the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project that has 33 projects engaging 30 different partners in the Strait of Georgia. The projects are part of a five-year $10 million initiative to determine what caused precipitous declines of wild Coho, Chinook and Steelhead in the Strait.

PEETZ Outdoors and PSF

In 2015, Peetz Outdoors announced their new ‘REEL CHANGE’ program, where PEETZ will donate $10 from every new PEETZ trolling reel sold via its website at www.peetzoutdoors.com to the Pacific Salmon Foundation.

A new initiative launched this weekend provides fishing enthusiasts and conservation supporters the opportunity to purchase PEETZ fishing reels specially marked with the PSF logo.  A total of 20% of proceeds from these specially branded reels will be directed to the 2016 REEL CHANGE Program with the Pacific Salmon Foundation.

Community partners of PSF who will benefit from the program have the ability to leverage PSF funding up to seven-fold by sourcing other government and private matching programs targeted at community level projects.
